Emerson

Emerson was looking for a testing system for their electric compressors, which would be used to test, under dynamic and static conditions, the different inverters & compressors designed and manufactured at their plants. The testing should be done to check the units in dynamic and static ways.

In addition, Emerson required a housing solution for the testing.

The solution provided to Emerson helped to:

  • Improve product quality.
  • Significantly reduce testing time.

About the Product:

Testing the compressor performance can be done in two ways: statically or dynamically.

In both cases, in order to get the data of the compressor’s output torque, it is necessary to use one of the following two options:

  • Testing an open compressor, in a vertical set-up.
  • By building a special housing for the compressor’s stator and rotor, creating a “housed motor,” and testing the output performance of the “housed motor.”

The dynamic performances include the compressor’s torque, speed, voltage, current, and power, during the acceleration of the compressor.

As compressor manufacturers and driver manufacturers are both interested in the static and dynamic performances of the compressor, this solution is ideal for their needs.
